The concept behind this artwork was to create an infochart that visually displays six ways I communicated with people over the course of three days. The six methods of communication being the gender I communicated with the most, the most used method of communication, the platform and time of contact, the top five people I communicated with, who started conversations first, and the types of people in my life I communicated with.
I wanted to display the information in a bedroom setting as this is where most of my communication takes place. I took inspiration from calming influences such as the music genre Lofi. I chose a monochromatic theme of purple, with contrasting yellow and oranges to display and make the statistics stand out. I wanted the information to blend into the scenery of the bedroom to make it look naturally existing and I achieved this by using a computer screen, rugs, pillows, curtains, and a dresser to display the information. With the statistics, I chose a typeface that could be read at a smaller scale so I was able to put more information and details into the chart, with viewers still having a clear understanding.
I wanted viewers to be able to read and understand the abundance of information easily and did this with applied aesthetics and a darker monochromatic color palette.
